Pype Hayes Park.

Nice New Years Day morning amble around Pype Hayes Park where there was plenty of birds out and about.

First highlights of 2013 were hearing and seeing flock of 50+ Siskin flitting from tree to tree feeding on Alder seeds, also in the same locale, Treecreeper, Nuthatch and a medium sized flock of Goldfinch were spotted. It's nice to see that a juvenile Grey Heron has set up residence on Pype Hayes Pool. It was also pleasing to see a lone Greenfinch in one of the trees along the Plants Brook, hopefully he wasn't on his own.

Birds seen today were Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Wren, Robin, Siskin, Treecreeper, Nuthatch, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, Moorhen, Coot, Mallard and Canada Goose.

If your interested my Flickr is up and running again, some of the photos may also appear on here but in higher resolution on Flickr. And not all of the photos will be bird or nature related but hopefully intersting all the same, just click on the following link.
