Another early morning trip out, today it was to a mild and misty Babbs Mill Nature Reserve which eventually gave way to some blinding sunshine, which looked particularly stunning while the mist was still around.
It was nice to see a couple of Goldcrest today, yet again they were a pair of birds that you heard before you even saw them. I also saw some Redwing and Song Thrush on the playing fields but in very low numbers again, there may even have been the odd Fieldfare out there but with the sun being so strong I couldn't positively identify any. On the lake there were 10 Mute Swan, 11 Domestic Geese and 8 Cormorant plus the usual variety of smaller wildfowl.
Birds seen today were Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Chaffinch, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Wren, Robin, Goldcrest, Starling, Redwing, Song Thrush, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Cormorant, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, Great Crested Grebe, Moorhen, Coot, Gadwall. Wigeon, Tufted Duck, Mallard, Domestic Goose and Canada Goose.
