Pype Hayes Park.

Nice trip to a chilly Pype Hayes Park where there was plenty of bird activity.

Best sights of the day was seeing a flock of c.50 Siskin going from tree to tree along the Plants Brook and a mixed flock of Goldfinch and Chaffinch in an alder tree, where again there was around 50 birds. Also nice to see was Nuthatch at five different locations. It was also nice to see plenty of small songbird activity especially Tits, Finches and Robins. It was slightly disappointing to see no Song Thrush, Redwing or Fieldfare though, because with temperature being somewhere around freezing I thought they'd be a shoo-in for sightings today but there you go.

Birds seen were Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Siskin, Nuthatch, Robin, Dunnock, Wren, Starling, Collared Dove, Blackbird, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Grey Wagtail, Mute Swan, Tufted Duck, Mallard, Moorhen, Coot and Canada Goose.
