Gumbleberry's Pool, Stechford.

A walk along the Kingfisher Country Park (which is an 11 km stretch of the River Cole from Small Heath to Chelmsley Wood) Today I walked from Stechford to Bordesley Green and back. Not a great day for bird spotting weather wise, far too gloomy, also this stretch of the River Cole has a disgusting amount of litter, even some dropped by the fisherman, who I would think the large majority know better. It is another place unfortunately in the middle of Chav land, and these people have no respect for themselves, their surroundings or anyone else for that matter. I picked up what litter I could manage (especially the plastic beer/cider can holders and plastic carrier bags) but essentially you're fighting a losing battle. Anyway, rant over, all bird species spotted today were Pied Wagtail, Wren, Redwing, Song Thrush, Chaffinch, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Blackbird, Starling, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, 3 Grey Heron on the same pool, Moorhen, Canada Goose and Mallard.
