Babbs Mill Nature Reserve, Kingshurst.

Another trip to Kingshurst, still a bit cold, but Spring is definately around the corner. Bird species of note spotted today were 6 Barnacle Goose, Coal Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Jay, Song Thrush, Dunnock, Robin, 3 Grey Heron on the lake (they seem to like standing on the barley straw tubes put down this week to inhibit the algae which killed scores of fish last year) Pochard, Tufted Duck and Moorhen. As well, there is always a healthy amount of House Sparrow around the lake and the River Cole in the trees and bushes, just a pity they are always litter strewn, bloody chavs !
