Pype Hayes Park and Plantsbrook Nature Reserve.

                      Pypes Hayes Park.

                     Plantsbrook Nature Reserve.

Decided to take another trip to Plantsbrook Nature Reserve today after the disappointing weather on Saturday but first had a visit to Pype Hayes Park. Notable birds spotted at Pype Hayes were Goldfinch, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Robin, Jackdaw, Hosue Sparrow, Starling, Tufted Duck, Gosling and Ducklings, unfortunately in lesser numbers. Notable birds seen at Plantsbrook were Great Spotted Woodpecker, Grey Wagtail(s), Chaffinch, Swift, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Great Crested Grebe, Mute Swan, Moorhen, Gosling, Ducklings and Coot chicks. The Mute Swan, Great Crested Grebe and some Canada Goose and Coots are still on the nests, including the Canada Goose practically on the footpath, hopefully the chicks will hatch soon as in previous years our friends 'the chavs' have chased away the female and crushed all the eggs, pity we can't do the same to them !
