Brookvale Park.

Nice visit to Brookvale Park in Erdington yesterday was mostly free of litter.

As was the same on previous visits this location is a stronghold for Mute Swan, House Sparrow, Coot, Grey Squirrel and at this time of the year House Martin, Mute Swan numbers were .c50, while House Sparrow and House Martin numbered in the hundreds and there were Grey Squirrel were all around the lake, it was a pleasure to see eight juvenile Mute Swan, House Sparrow fledglings being fed and many House Martin taking food to young in the houses that are adjacent to the lake, I spotted eight Coot on the nest but there were almost certainly more as a lot of locations of the lake cant be seen, I only saw four Coot juveniles but again there were bound to have been more.

Birds seen today were, House Sparrow, Chiffchaff, Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Dunnock, Wren, Starling, Song Thrush, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Carrion Crow, House Martin, Mute Swan, Great Crested Grebe, Moorhen, Coot, Tufted Duck, Mallard, Domestic Goose and Canada Goose.
