Lovely visit to Southfields Farm in Coleshill this morning just a pity it was very quiet birding wise, still great to have a walk around the farm all the same.
As always the farm was awash with House Sparrow but obviously at this time of the year there are many more than normal with juveniles here there and everywhere, other juveniles seen today were Starling, Blue Tit and Rook.
In the fields there was a Kestrel hunting prey in the grass, Skylark hovering above and presumably taking food down to young, plenty of House Martin nearer to the outbuildings, I don't usually see any Rook so it was nice surprise to see juveniles, also nice to see was Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Song Thrush all of which were all in full voice, also seen flying overhead were Grey Heron and Cormorant.
Birds seen today were, Kestrel, House Sparrow, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Goldfinch, Dunnock, Wren, Robin, Starling, Skylark, House Martin, Pied Wagtail, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Song Thursh, Jay, Blackbird, Woodpigeon, Rook, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Grey Heron, Cormorant and Mallard.
