Kingsbury Water Park, North Warwickshire.
Trip out to North Warwickshire today to visit a nice and sunny Kingsbury Water Park.
First of all shame on whoever is in charge of the forestry because hundreds of trees have been chopped down along the paths of the lakes and even worse more and more were being hacked down as I was there, where there were once loads of old trees aligning the paths now there is practically nothing, to me it's just plain and utter vandalism ! It won't stop me going back but the place just didn't have the same feel, I dread to think how many birds have needlessly been turfed out of their homes, I thought we were supposed to have more trees, not less, I've never seen the water flowing under one of the bridges like it was today presumably because all the trees around said location have now gone.
Back to the birding, it was great to see three Little Egret along the river just before parking up. Other highlights were seeing a very impressive flock of .c50 Goldfinch, hearing Song Thrush singing and seeing and hearing plenty of House Sparrow.
Birds seen today were Buzzard, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Wren, Robin, Starling, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Woodpigeon, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Little Egret, Cormorant, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, Great Crested Grebe, Coot, Shoveler, Goosander, Pochard, Mallard, Domestic Duck, Greylag Goose and Canada Goose.
