Babbs Mill Nature Reserve, Kingshurst.

Today starting off being a frosty 0 degrees Celsius, which was evident when I woke up and looked out of the window and the water in the bird baths were frozen on top but by the end of the morning it was a relatively balmy 9 degrees Celsius. Had a trip to Kingshurst today, birds seen were, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Dunnock, Wren, Robin, Jay, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Grey Heron, Cormorant, Mute Swan, Great Crested Grebe, Pochard, Moorhen, Coot, Mallard, Canada Goose and Farmyard Goose. A notable thing about today was seeing and hearing plenty of Song Thrush, it's always great to hear their great range of songs, it is very aptly named. Of the waterfowl, this years resident seven Mute Swan are still in residence, the Great Crested Grebe numbers are increasing, even though most of them were just chilling out though and the Canada/Greylag hybrid is finally back in favour with the Canada Geese, for whatever reason they had pushed it away and it was hanging around with the Farmyard Geese but thankfully it's now back with it's kind, where it belongs.
