Pype Hayes Park.

Last birding trip of the year was to a lovely blue skied Pype Hayes Park.

Highlight of the day was seeing a flock of .c20 Redwing, Song Thrush, Blue Tit, Great Tit and Goldfinch, I say flock but it was probably two separate flocks, one of Tits and one of Thrushes, great to see them all fly over at once all the same. It's always great at this time of the year when there's not much leaf cover and you can see all the songbirds foraging amongst the trees, needless to say I left as much bird seed as I could during my walk today.

Birds seen today were, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, House Sparrow, Robin, Starling, Redwing, Song Thrush, Balckbird, Woodpigeon, Feral Pigeon, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Pied Wagtail, Cormorant, Mute Swan, Little Egret, Moorhen, Coot, Mallard and Canada Goose.

Happy new Year to everyone who takes the time out to read this blog, here's to Birding in 2016 !

Kingsbury Water Park.

Being as I enjoyed the last visit to Kingsbury Water Park I thought I'd go back again today where the highlight was coming face to face (quite literally) with a Goldcrest, I couldn't believe it when I turned around and there it was foraging on a dead Ivy tree inches from my face. Other highlights were seeing a large flock of House Sparrow and waterfowl including Shoveler and the resident Greylag Geese.

Birds seen today were Goldcrest, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Long Tailed Tit, Chaffinch, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Robin, Starling, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jay, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Woodpigeon, Jackdaw, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Little Egret, Cormorant, Grey Heron, Mute Swan, Great Crested Grebe, Moorhen, Coot, Shoveler, Gadwall, Pochard, Tufted Duck, Mallard, Greylag Goose and Canada Goose.
